Create a BGP Route

Perform the following steps to create a BGP route:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > BGP > Routes.
  2. On the BGP Routes page, click Create and select BGP Route.
  3. On the Create Route page, enter the following details:

    Field

    Purpose

    BGP Route Prefix

    Enter the BGP Prefix IP, which can either be a specific IP or a subnet.

    NOTE: RTBH icon in red is displayed if the zone is under RTBH mitigation.

    Zone (Optional)

    Select a zone to associate with the BGP route. If a zone is selected, BGP Route Prefix IP must be present in the zone configuration.

    Mitigator Group

    Select a mitigator group to apply to the BGP route.

    Route Map

    Select a route map from the drop-down list. If the zone selected already has BGP Route Map configured using the Zone Operational Policy, the same Route Map is preselected by default in this step.

    NOTE: If a Route Map is not selected, a default Route map called A10_ Next_ Hop Route map is used.
    NOTE: If a BGP Route Map is associated with a Zone Operational Policy, it cannot be deleted.

    Auto remove on stop mitigation

    Select the check box to automatically remove the BGP route from A10 Defend Orchestrator App and TPS device after the mitigation stops. The system-created BGP Routes are always removed after the mitigation stops.

  5. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Save—Allows you to save the BGP Route configuration only on A10 Defend Orchestrator App.
    • Save & Deploy—Allows you to save and deploy the BGP Route configuration on A10 Defend Orchestrator App and the associated mitigator devices.
