Schedule or Create Device Backup

The Scheduled Backups and Device Backup tabs allows Organization Admins to back up device configurations for recovery, compliance, or migration purposes. Backups include:

NOTE: Before creating a backup, ensure the running configuration is persisted to startup-configuration.
  • Run write memory directly on the device CLI, or
  • Use A10 Control home page > Organization-Admin scope > Utilities > Device CLI utility to execute the same.

This ensures the latest changes are included in the backup.

To schedule or create a device backup, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to any one of the following paths:
    • Organization-Admin scope > Infrastructure > Devices > Devices panel > select the required device and click the corresponding Kebab menu to select Backup Device Config.
    • Organization-Admin scope > Utilities > Device Backup > Device Backups tab > click + Create.
  2. On the Create Device Backup dialog, enter the following:

    Field Description

    Backup Name

    A name for the backup.

    Select Device

    Select one, multiple , or all devices from the list.

    When

    Select when to backup the device. Options:

    • Now
    • Schedule

    Time Zone

     Select the time zone from the drop-down.

    Frequency

     If Schedule is selected, then choose the frequency of schedule. Options:

    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Monthly

    Start Backup From

    If the Schedule is selected, then choose the date and time of the backup using the calendar.

    Description

    The description for the one-time or frequent backup.

  3. Click Save.
    • If Now is selected, the backup runs immediately.
    • If Schedule is selected, the backup is queued and displayed in the Scheduled Backups and Device Backup list.
