Configure a CGNv6 NAT Pool

To configure a CGNv6 NAT pool:

  1. Navigate to IP/Domain > Pool
  2. Click + Add New.
  3. On the Add CGNv6 NAT Pool page, specify the required details and click Create.
    The create confirmation message is displayed.

The following fields are available for the configuration:

Configurable Parameter

Option

Description

Pool Name

 

Specify the name of the LSN pool.

Start Address

 

Specify the starting valid public IP address in the range to be mapped to internal addresses.

End Address

 

Specify the ending valid public IP address in the range to be mapped to internal addresses.

Netmask

 

Specify a subnet mask or mask length for the public addresses.

All addresses within the resulting subnet are members of the pool, and can be used by CGN for client mappings.

VRID

 

Select the VRID to use for backing up NAT addresses.

Exclude IP

 

Specify an IP address or a range of IP addresses to exclude from the pool.

Click ‘+Add’ to enter the following details:

Start IP Address

Enter a valid IP address

End IP Address

Adding details to this field is optional. If you want to add a range of IP addresses, enter a valid IP address.

Action

Click the save icon under ‘Action’ to save the information.

Max Users Per IP

 

Specify the number of users that can be assigned to a NAT IP. The option specifies the maximum number of internal addresses that can be mapped to a single public address at the same time.

Specify a value between 1 - 64512. By default, there is no limit.

Shared

 

This option allows L3V partitions running CGN to use this pool. The available options are as follows:

All Partitions

Shares with all partitions.

Single Partition

Shares with a single partition.

Partition Group

Shares with a partition group.

Port Batch V2 Size

 

Configure batched port allocation. When any one of the options is selected from the drop-down list, the following options are displayed:

Usable NAT Start Port

This option configures usable NAT start port.

Specify a value between 1024 - 65535.

Usable NAT End Port

This option configures usable NAT end port.

Specify a value between 1024 - 65535.

Warning Threshold for Per Batch Port Usage

This option configures warning log threshold for per batch port usage This option is disabled by default.

Specify a value between 32 - 4096.

TCP Time Wait Interval (Min­utes)

This option configures the number of minutes before TCP NAT ports can be reused.

Specify a value between 1 - 10.

Simultaneous Batch Allocation

Enabling this option allocates the same TCP and UDP batches simultaneously.
