Protocol

Configured protocol type. Layer 4 transport protocol used by the port.

The TCP or UDP port on which the server listens for traffic.

Service Group Member

Name

Specified service group member name.

Port

Configured service group member port number.

You can specify a value between 0 - 65534. The default port is 65534.

Configure a Health Monitor

The following fields are available for the configuration:

Field

Description

Advanced

Click the + Add icon to configure a health monitor.
For information, see Configure a Health Monitor.

Health Check

Configured a health monitor that is being used to check the server port’s health. Enables health monitoring of the server.

Action

Click the Add icon to configure health monitor.

Health Monitor

When you use this fea¬ture, if a site is unavailable (for example, is taken down for maintenance), the server will fail the health check for that site, and clients will not be sent to the site. However, other sites on the same server will pass their health checks, and clients of those sites will be sent to the server.

Name

Configured a health monitor name.

Dsr L2 Strict

Enable this option to send health check packets only to servers in the same Layer 2 network as A10 Control.

Retry

Specify the maximum number of times a device will resend the same health check to an unresponsive server or service before marking that server or service as down.

Locks the user account after the user exceeds the configured failed logon attempts.

You can specify a value between 1 - 5. By default, the retry count set to 3.

Up Retry

Specify number of consecutive times the device must pass the same periodic health check, in order to be marked Up.

You can specify a value between 1 - 10. By default, the up-retry count set to 1.

Override IPv4

Sends the health check to the specified IPv4 address, instead of sending the health check to the IP address of the real server with which the health monitor is associated.

The health check is sent to the IPv4 address of the real server.

Override IPv6

Sends the health check to the specified IPv6 address, instead of sending the health check to the IP address of the real server with which the health monitor is associated.

The health check is sent to the IPv6 address of the real server.

Override Port

Sends the health check to the specified protocol port number, instead of sending the health check to the protocol port number configured for the health method.

You can a specify port number between 1 - 65534. The health check is sent to the protocol port number configured for the health method.

Strict Retry On Server Err Resp

Whether strict retry on server should be enabled or disabled.

Disable After Down

Whether the target should be enabled or disabled when the health check is failed.

Interval

Configure health-check interval in number of seconds between each check using the monitor.

You can specify a value between 1 - 180. By default, the interval value is set to 5 seconds.

Timeout

Configure health-check timeout in number of seconds a device waits for a reply to a health check.

You can specify 1 to 180. By default, the timeout value is set to 5 seconds. Timeout should be less than or equal to interval.

SSL Ciphers

Configured Open SSL Cipher suite names for health-check. OpenSSL Cipher Suite example AES128-SHA256, if the cipher is invalid, would give information at health monitor down reason.

Method

Select a method type for which you want to configure a health monitor.

For information about configuring different types of health monitors, see Health Monitor Method Type.
