Zone Operational Mode

Operational Mode has three states such as Idle, Learn, and Protect (same as the Monitoring mode) which are applied to a zone. For more information, see Zone Operational Modes in the DDoS Mitigation Guide for further information.

Perform the following steps to configure the Operational Modes for a zone:

1. Navigate to Configuration > Protected Objects > Zones.
2. Select a zone and click the Edit option available under the Actions column. The Zone Configuration page appears.

3. Expand the Overview section and verify the Operational Mode. The following Operational Modes are available.

   Column heading	Description
   Idle	In this mode, where CPU resources are not utilized for a zone.
   Learn	In this mode, where traffic baseline values will be established for a zone that can be used to create thresholds.
   Protect	This mode monitors and detects IP anomalies.
