Adding and Registering TPS Devices

You can register the TPS devices through GUI (A10 Control app) or CLI. To register the TPS devices through cli, refer to see the Part III: Detection and Monitoring section of the the DDoS Mitigation Guide.

Perform the following steps to add a device from GUI (A10 Control app).

  1. Log in to A10 Defend Orchestrator App.
  2. Go to Infrastructure >> Devices in the A10 Control panel.

    Alternatively, go to the cluster dashboard and select Add Device from the Kebab menu available to the device .

  3. Click Add on the device dashboard to add a new TPS device.
  4. You must enter the cluster information first, if you are adding a device to an existing cluster.

    On the Add New Device screen, select a cluster name.

    Cluster type and description are autofilled. If you wish to create a new cluster, you must enter the cluster information first.

  5. Under the Device information section, enter the following information.
    1. Enter the device name in the Device Name field.
    2. Enter a hostname in the Thunder Hostname field.

      Hostname may be an IP address or FQDN. The hostname establishes communication between A10 Control and TPS device.

    3. Enable Management Interface.

      Management interface is useful if TPS device is.....

    4. Enter the port number in the Port field.

      Port number: 443.

    5. Enter Admin User Name for managing the device.
    6. Enter the admin password.
    7. Select a Country or Region.
    8. Enter the Data Center / Zone / City, where the ??? is installed.
    9. Enter the Location.
    Click Next to save the device details to go to the next screen to assign a cluster to the device.

NOTE: Time of TPS devices must be synced with that of A10 Defend Orchestrator.
